Remington Pistol Remington's version of the Wooden Gun Rack Attractive way to display guns.
Remington Firearms Serial Numbers Decoding the serial number. Does anyone know WHEN serial numbers began to be required on all guns?Remington Shotguns World's most popular shotguns.
And this one last thing - when I went to do the paperwork for the Rifle we could find NO serial number on the arm.
I don't think I am going to put a scope on this little gem - it will be the ONE 22 that the grandkids will have to learn about open sights with. The grandkids will not notice this though - I am sure. I was firing now slow and offhand and I just did very well at this - hitting the clay pigeons offhand from 10 to 20 yards out. My last course of fire was to "whack" several orange and black clay pigeons that had been left in the firing lanes. The safety works and not one fail to feed with the two brands of ammo I tried Federal hollow-point bulk pack and Winchester Power-Points. I then got off the sand bags and tried some rapid fire function testing - again all went well. Not to worry - my first 7 shots were so close to the dot that I did not even change the sight settings. The worked perfectly and I especially enjoyed the very fine front bead of the Remingtons open sights. I decide to shoot anyway - as much to verify function and to check for any defects. Once at the range I noticed a "weather change" and the wind is crossways and at least 12 - 15 M. Speaking of shooting - I hurried home from the gunshop once I paid for the gun and got my range gear together and my large collection of "22 test ammo" and headed out for the range. AND, I love to shoot pump 22's and the others I have are simply to valuable to take out and shoot anymore. I had never owned one of these and it will fill a couple of "needs" that I have - one is I do not have a "shooter" pump 22 to use in educating my two so far grandchildren about pump action Rifles. The relative took the appraisal back to the living spouse and FINALLY got back to the shop today that the aforementioned prices were okay. I told the shopowner that day that I would be interested in the Remington Model pump Rifle. My local pawn sport shop handles "consignment" firearms and they did as was asked and appraised the several arms for the relative. A relative of a deceased fellow was handling the disposition of several long arms. About 40 days ago into my local pawn sport shop came several firearms from an "estate". I saw another in a gun store in Millington TN in 77 for sale and I think I saw one of the blue anodized ones somewhere in the 80's. When I got it in the light, what a surprise, no rust at all, copper anodized and light color stock. I remember her having me go into the attic to pull down the rifle and in the dim light all I could see was 'rust. My great aunt gave it to me in the early 70's. I have always regreted selling it as it was a tackdriver that won many backwoods competitions. I dont think they were offered much earlier than that. I had one that was bought new in and was called Buckskin.Ī black, walnut colored stock one was also offered and called Raven iirc. Might I be so bold as to ask for photo's? We love photo's. My 's birthday has been a mystery to me for all these years. I will find my link to that chart and post it for you. Started in and was used untill very recently, then reinatated.
There is a chart that breaks down that code to a month and year. There should be a pair on letters on he breech end of the barrelleft side. But that would just give a timeframe not exact date.
You can be sure it's before Maybe someone knows when certain features were added or removed. Anyway I was wondering if anyone know's of a way to date the year of manufacture on this no number rifle. The grain of the wood in the stock resembles walnut but is blond in color maybe bleached. It looks almost new in condition and a nice shooting light pump. The tube underneath is chrome and holds 18 shells.
This rifle has a alloy action and aluminum barrel, copper in color and sleeved rifling. Was trying to figure out when it was manufactured but without the numbers I can't use the Remington ID.
